2025 AAU Girls Details
Girls, grades 3-11 (as of Fall 2024)
Our Legacy Hoops East teams will be based out of our Legacy Hoops Woodbury location. If you prefer, you can sign up for our Legacy Hoops West Tryouts which are based out of our Hopkins location. Our focus for all of our AAU teams, both East and West, is heavy skill development, relationship building, college exposure/recruiting, and having fun. We believe it is important to maintain a level of competitiveness without sacrificing the core values of kids having fun in the process. We play a very competitive schedule which is catered to each specific grade and level of the team.
Tryouts sessions are $15 for each one you sign up for. All tryout participants in attendance must register ONLINE. You do NOT have to attend all tryouts! Kids can attend as many as possible until they are offered a spot. Each session is paid for individually. Please note we will offer spots at EACH tryout session. Spots will be offered until all teams are completely filled. We highly suggest being at the early tryout sessions in order to make the team you desire before spots are filled.
Depending on how many athletes attend tryouts, along with the talent level, that will determine how many teams we form at each grade level.
Our 9th-11th grade teams will have Elite, Gold, Silvers teams etc. Our Elite teams will be formed from all over, not split up into East or West. Our Elite teams will be playing on the Elite 40 Circuit which is one of the top leagues in the country featuring the top Nike EYBL, Under Armour, and top independent girls programs in the country. Please plan to travel to at whichever location practices will be held between our Hopkins or Woodbury locations.
We do ask each player to bring a reversible jersey, or shirt with a number on it, so we can identify each player. Check-ins for each session will begin 20 minutes prior to tryouts so that we may start on time.
Parents will NOT be allowed to stay in the gym or lobby during tryouts.
We will ONLY call players that MAKE THE TEAM. If your daughter does not make a team, you will NOT be notified. If your daughter makes a team you will be notified day of the tryout or the following day by midnight. If you are offered a spot and DO NOT accept the spot within 24hrs of when the spot was offered, it will be offered to another player. Once you accept a spot on a team, we will collect a $250 deposit the day of accepting the spot to hold your roster spot and make the spot official, so please be ready to do if you plan to accept a spot. Please be ready to make that deposit at time of acceptance. NO spot is saved until the deposit is paid. Additional monthly payments will be made in order to cover total balance before the first tournament. We will NOT give multiple days to accept a spot.

2025 AAU Season Info:
Team Fees
For the 2024 season, fees for grades 3-11 ranged from $500-$1,350, and varied based on the number of tournaments, out-of-state tournaments, roster spots, and other factors. We DO NOT pay for travel expenses for out of state tournaments or AAU cards. Uniforms are included in the fees and will be collected at the end of each season. We will collect a team deposit of $250 once a commitment is made in order to secure your roster spot, and remaining fees will be paid BEFORE the FIRST tournament. Half of team fees are due by January 31st. NO EXCEPTIONS! Roster spots will not be protected if fees are not paid, and those spots can be replaced and athletes will not be able to play. Payment plans are available to help in any way we can, but you must communicate your financial need up front upon accepting a roster spot. We will be very firm on this stipulation this upcoming season.
PLEASE NOTE: There are NO REFUNDS once a commitment is made to accept a roster spot, including the deposit as well as other payments made towards the team fees.
Tournaments
We play a very competitive tournament schedule out of state from grades 6-11. Tournament play will begin in April. We plan to have final schedules set once we have fully evaluated teams in the Fall, but no later than Feb 1st depending on date changes or tournaments. There will be between 6-10 tournaments, which are determined by the age and level of the team. Teams will play locally, regionally and nationally according to age and level of the team. Tournaments may/can be added as the season progresses per coach and player commitment.
Elite 40 Circuit
Our Elite teams (15U-17U) will be playing on the Elite 40 League, which is the top independent circuit in the country. The E40 features the top Nike EYBL, Under Armour, and top independent girls programs in the country. We offer heavy exposure and recruiting for those looking to play at the college level.
Practices
Practice is the most important part to our program. Not just practice but teaching and DEVELOPMENT. Player development is a very large focus in our program and making sure kids are getting better and not just playing games.
*Unless communicated with the coach, it is very important that players are committed and consistently attend practices in order to get the proper playing time, etc. This includes those playing other sports. if a player does not practice the week of a tournament, they do NOT play in games on that weekend.
Spring & Summer AAU season practices will begin in March/early April due to spring breaks and winter season schedules. Each team on average will practice two times per week. Each practice will range from 90-120 minutes unless the coach schedules differently. Most practices will be held on weeknights, NO WEEKENDS unless coach and team decide on it. Practice location for our Legacy Hoops East teams will be held at the Legacy Hoops Basketball Academy (Woodbury) or surrounding areas if space is needed. We plan to have the official nights of practice set by early March.
Honest Game
We have a unique partnership with Honest Game, which is a public benefit corporation that empowers schools and student-athletes with a plan that provides guidance on the classes, grades, and test scores they need to meet NCAA academic eligibility status. Honest Game takes our athletes transcript/test scores and translates it into a College Athletic Report on Eligibility (CARE®). CARE® serves as an extra set of eyes, tracks all your academic requirements, and ensures you are taking all the proper courses and counting towards for NCAA eligibility.
Multi Sport Athletes
We absolutely support and encourage multi sport athletes in our program. We know the importance of kids being well rounded athletes along with simply being kids, however, we do ask for a balance with both basketball and the other sport or sports. IN ORDER TO PLAY ON A TOP TEAM, YOU MUST HAVE A FULL COMMITMENT TO BASKETBALL! A commitment to basketball is a requirement to play in our program, as we want consistency so each team can be as competitive as possible. All other sport schedules should be provided ahead of time to structure the proper plan for practice attendance. There is a requirement to be at practices during the week in order to play in games. Please be sure to accept spots only if you can have a flexible balance and commitment to basketball.
